The Betsy Ross,
d.freemont’s second watch in the Patriotic Collection….our Declaration of
Independence…symbolized by the 13 stars of the new republic. Imagine as you wind
this watch, you are returning to the days of the Continental Congress, risking
your very life and soul as a traitor to the British Crown, fashioning a flag of
freedom that could have resulted in your hanging for treason. That’s the reason
for this watch…lest we forget what price and sacrifices our forefathers endured
to establish this great country. |

The BTP is a reminder
of our Freedom. I relate this concept with this parallel: when staring at a
Picasso painting, I get the impression that he didn’t and perhaps no mortal
could convey the deepest human feeling in words. So he painted them and the
meaning comes through. I tried to incorporate a few elements of Freedom’s
history into its presentation: the “tea color” of the dial, the gleaming
polished stainless steel 40 mm view back case like the blade of a sword, two
luminous hands to symbolize the passion in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem and
a simplified yet superb ETA 2804 17 jewel movement that requires daily winding
–j ust as our Freedom requires daily attention…a daily reminder, that as you
wind your watch, be vigilant and be on guard…KEEP FREEDOM RINGING |

America is nearing the mid point in man’s search for
a better way of life. The Boston Tea Party (BTP) was the proverbial last straw
in framing our Constitution. The Declaration of Independence, the preamble of
man’s best work to date, has endured to this day. We must never forget the brave
acts of our forefathers – braving oceans in ships that by today’s standard would
not be safe to cross Boston Harbor.
The BTP is acknowledged not as a simple act that changed everything, but as a
point of no return for the colonists in fighting for their individual and
collective rights to self govern and not be the slaves to the greed of the
irresponsible English bureaucracy. Empires, with purposes contrary to man’s best
interest, have fallen into history. The
manipulation of religion and laws, to support bondage, will never succeed. The
BTP proved that free men could and would muster the courage to resist the amoral
godless principles which anger men’s souls at the apex of any dark age. Perhaps
America is facing a new dark age of complicated ruses and an obsession to cut
ourselves off from God and the truth that has made us great…On guard, never
forget the BTP. It should be your daily reminder that Freedom is constantly
being attacked. |

The
Patrick Henry completes the trilogy of the Patriotic series,
beginning with the Boston Tea Party, the apex of Americas
revolt…continuing with the Betsy Ross – which symbolized our
declaration of independence to the Patrick Henry, “Give me Liberty
or Give me Death” one of the most famous of all quotes---the
establishment of the Culpeper Minute Men and their famous flag that
gave support for the greatest of all doctrines, the Constitution and
the Bill of Rights. |
